♡ For When You're Lazy OR In a Rush... ♡

In an ideal world, I would not address the elephant in the room and just head straight into the post--which you guys deserve me to do anyway precisely because of said elephant--but because I don't want to act like nothing happened and I'm just making a normal post like normal...

In all seriousness, as Sally mentioned in her last post, the start of the school year has been nothing short of hectic for the both of us. Before I left home for my dorm at the end of August, I knew already that I was planning to start off sophomore year with a bang, but I definitely underestimated the magnitude with which I would. All the while, I was bracing myself with the fact that eventually, I would also have to make time in my jam-packed schedule to sit down and write this post, but as each new day brought on its own unique challenges and events, this post always became a task for "tomorrow."

And now, at 12:20 AM on October 4th, "tomorrow" is finally here.

The hectic-ness of my schedule can be largely attributed to the fact I legitimately never give myself a break, and it goes without saying that this kind of lifestyle results in a lot of late nights; I don't think I've gone to bed before midnight since I got back to school (then again, I guess the same can be said of any other college student). Personally, I'm a night owl anyway, so the late nights don't bother me, but when coupled with early mornings, I'm required to get a little clever to make my day run as smoothly as possible.

In this post, I have my top three "life hacks" for those mornings when you hit the snooze one too many times before your eight AM, or even those mornings when you do get up on time, but can't seem to peel yourself from your bed no matter how hard you try. Although these little tips and tricks seem very basic on the surface, I promise you that they are my go-to habits that help me feel fresh and ready to conquer the day's schedule even when I only have a minute or two to spare!

♡TIP #1: FACE WIPES

It's probably a moot point to include this suggestion in this post, but despite the amount of people that I do know who already use facial wash wipes, I still know people who don't, so hopefully this proves to be helpful anyway.

I digress.

Regardless of the popularity that already surrounds facial wash wipes, I feel like they're heavily underrated and are #1 in my list for good reason. I think that their handiness is self-explanatory, but I'll go on and give quick short spiel for the sake of the post. Having acne-prone skin, washing my face twice a day is a must, but unless you have one of those dorm rooms that have a sink built right into it, having to make your way to the communal bathroom to wash your face can eat up some precious minutes that you just can't afford.

But when you keep a pack of face wipes right next to your bed, washing your face in the morning can be done with barely any movement at all (save for the movements needed to get the actual wipe out from the pack, of course). You can even grab one on your way out of your room and wash your face on the way to class... if that's your jam.

I included a picture of the wipes that I use myself, which are the Neutrogena pink grapefruit... "flavor," I guess? I got these ones because I also use the Neutrogena pink grapefruit facial scrub as my daily face wash, but another reason why I like them as much as I do is because they kind of give your skin a tingly, cooling sensation, which rocks in the morning when you're trying to wake up.

I know that these wipes are available at Ulta, but I buy them from Target because they're slightly cheaper! 😉

 ♡TIP #2: EARRINGS

Earrings? Yeah, even I can't really explain this one, but I know that it works. For some reason, on the mornings that I wake up with so little time to spare that putting on makeup is unthinkable, I pop on a pair of stud earrings and instantly look that much more put together. I say stud earrings specifically because I myself feel that they work the best when you're working with a natural look, as opposed to attention-grabbing statement earrings, but honestly, do what works best for you and makes you happiest.

The earrings I wear on the daily are a pair of pearls and are my personal favorites, but sometimes I'll reach for pink Swarovski studs that I got from a couple of friends for my eighteenth birthday. If you're interested in investing in some cute, small earrings to try out this tip for yourself, I recommend checking out stores and online shops with wide jewelry selections like Francesca's or Versona Accessories!

 ♡TIP #3: "ELEPHANT" PANTS

On the surface, I'm sure that this tip looks both very strange and very specific. But, just like the earrings, elephant pants just inexplicably work, and they do so on a couple of levels. First and foremost, they are comfortable like no other; they're airy, lightweight, and loose without being shapeless or unflattering. And again, just like the earrings, they automatically give the illusion that you put thought into your outfit and that you didn't just roll out of bed and pull them on.

They're like fancy sweatpants. What more could you want?

What is it about these pants that conceals the symptoms of four-hours-of-sleep-itis as well as they do? Is it the elephants themselves? Is it the intricate pattern as a whole? Is it Maybelline? Whatever it is, I am eternally and endlessly grateful.

The pants in the picture I've included are from an online shop that's actually called The Elephant Pants, and what I think is really cool about their company is that they donate ten percent of each sale they make to the preservation of elephants, so they definitely get my vote in terms of where I'd suggest you pick up your own pair of pants from. Plus, they not only have a variety of colors and designs to choose from, but they have different kinds of products that you can browse as well, such as sundresses, shirts, jewelry, and more. However, I also know that you can find some pants on Amazon, should that work better for you!

Though there may be "only" three life hacks in this list, I guarantee that these are my tried and true tips and tricks that I know I can rely on when I wake up a little--or a lot--too late for my usual morning routine. I hope that they'll be as helpful for you as they are for me, or even inspire you to come up with some ideas for yourself; if they do, let me know what you think of in the comments!

Thank you so much for coming back to La Salle Belle, and I'll see you in my next post, which will definitely be up sooner than two months from now!!!

Je vous adore!

~Bella
