♡ Sally's DIY Horoscope Notebook Cover ♡

Hey y'all! It's August and that means it's back to school season. I love decorating my own school supplies and making them personal to my personality. I typically look at big YouTubers and their back to school videos for inspiration (I love LaurDIY btw). However, I found a bunch of cute Pinterest notebooks, one of them being this notebook, and I couldn't resist trying to replicate this!

♡DIY HOROSCOPE CONSTELLATIONS NOTEBOOK♡

Things you'll need:
♡Notebook (can be spiral or a composition book)
♡Chalkboard contact paper (I'm using this)
♡White paint pen
♡Scissors

Steps:

  1. Measure your notebook against your contact paper. If you're using a spiral notebook, I will recommend using the front cover whereas you can cover both the front and the back with the chalkboard paper.

  2. Mark the contact paper where you want to cut it. Make sure that you leave enough space to fold the edge over onto the cover.
  3. Use either a paper cutter or a pair of scissors to cut your contact paper.

  4. Peel off the back of the contact paper.

  5. Carefully place it on your notebook. If you're using a composition book, lay down one side of the cover slowly and then fold over the contact paper on the other side--I like to use a ruler to make sure that there aren't any air bubbles in the paper. When the front cover is covered and smooth, check to make sure that the back side doesn't have any air bubbles. If it does have air bubbles, you can peel back the contact paper and re-apply it.

  6. Open up your notebook cover, and snip the corners of the contact paper. I like to cut a diagonal line on the corner so that it can't be seen on the edges. For composition books, in the middle binding, cut a triangle out so that you are able to fold over the edges of the contact paper onto the cover.
  7. Fold over the edges onto the cover of the notebook.

  8. Take your paint pen and start sketching your constellations. To do this, I like to draw out the dots that represent the stars and then connect the dots with lines. For a cleaner line, use a straightedge.

  9. As you can see at the top of the image above, I started decorating the notebook with other stars by adding patterns of smaller and bigger dots in groups of 2-5 dispersed throughout the cover.

  10. Let the paint dry and voila! Done!

It's definitely an easy DIY, but I think it looks amazing and so professional. This is probably something you would see on Tumblr. Let me know if you liked this notebook, and if you make it yourself, send us a picture on Instagram with the hashtag #LaSalleBelle. As always, thank you for stopping by the blog! Beaucoup d'amour ♡
