♡ Sally's College Life Hacks ♡
Hey y'all! It's been a while, but I'm back! College is back in
full swing for me, and I might be a tad late, but I'm here to make your
collegiate life a little bit easier! It took a bit of trial and error for me,
but going into my sophomore year, I am feeling very confident about slaying
college. Without further ado, here's my tips for surviving your school year!
- Rent your
textbooks from Amazon
This is probably my biggest tip, and my favorite way to save money. Textbooks are
sooooo expensive to just buy from your university bookstore, so check out
Amazon Rentals!!! I saved over $300 this semester just by renting my books. That
can definitely add up, so you should try and save money where you can!
- Save shipping time and costs through Amazon Student Prime
Amazon offers half off of Amazon Prime for college students with active .edu email
addresses for 4 years. How is this relevant? You can get your rental books from
above in two days for free! Plus, you get everything that Amazon Prime offers, like
Prime Videos and Music. What a steal!
- Buy a planner
I know you're thinking "ugh, I don't need a planner, I can just scratch down my
assignments and remember them." However, I find that keeping an organized, up-
to-date planner really helps to ensure that I've completed all of my tasks for the
day. I also like to stick my class schedule in my planner, especially for the
beginning of a semester. Worried that you're going to get bored with those drab
planner spreads? Nothing to worry about! I like to decorate my planner with
stickers, washi tape, and whatever I can get my hands on. It helps to motivate me
to do my tasks, and crossing off a task in my planner is so satisfying. I'll definitely
try and write a future post about how I decorate my planner too! Don't want to
decorate? Check out Erin Condren planners and the Happy Planner!
- Color Code EVERYTHING
One of my most favorite methods of organizing is color coding. 1) it's so
aesthetically pleasing. 2) I tend to pay more attention when the important parts of
my notes or my planner are colorful. 3) It's super helpful when you're trying to
reference one specific item in your notes or on your planner. I know Bella talked
about highlighting her vocab words in purple so she can go back and search for
traces of purple when she's trying to study. Check out her latest blog post on her
college necessities! However, I love using these Papermate Flair Felt Tip pens and
these Sharpie Fine Point pens.
- Rewrite your notes
One of the best ways to study your notes is just to rewrite them--no not type them
up. You've probably heard this at one point in your life, but your brain tends to
remember more when you take the effort to write out your notes, because when
you stare at any screen, your brain has the same brain activity as if you were
sleeping. When you're writing, your brain is super active, which helps you
remember your notes better!
Anyways, I hope that these can help make college or school better! As always, thanks for stopping by the blog. Beaucoup d'amour ♡
